Just a quick update - the Quantum Code project just scored two gongs at tonight’s ADMA Awards in Sydney, a Bronze for Best Mobile and Wireless (Creative), and a Bronze for Best Retail and Packaged Goods (Effectiveness).
Big thanks to Peter Maniaty, Creative Director at Euro RSCG Sydney, who Tweeted the good news from the event. Follow him on Twitter: @petermaniaty.
As I’ve said before, a bit of peer recognition is always nice.
So, I was quite chuffed when the Sony Quantum Code project scored two awards at the 2009 Digital Media Awards (Asia Pacific) - a Silver for Best Mobile campaign, and a Silver for Best Viral Marketing. It also picked up a Bronze at the MAA Globes late last month.
The 2009 ADMA Awards are on tomorrow night, and the project is shortlisted in two categories. Once again, fingers crossed…
The welcome sign at the DDB office was a nice touch
Big news. I’ve joined Tribal DDB Hong Kong as Associate Creative Director and Head of Copy.
Of course, this involved moving to Hong Kong, but I never say no to a bit of travel, especially when it involves a fantastic opportunity.
And it is just that, a fantastic opportunity. Hong Kong has all the right elements - the clients, the budgets, the skills, and the willingness to do great creative work. Now it’s a task of helping to bring those elements together at Tribal in the right way.
In addition to winning two AIMIA awards, the Quantum Code project was also received a nomination at the recent D&AD awards. Out of 20,000 pieces of creative work submitted to the show, only 174 received nominations, so it was a huge honour.
The project has also been mentioned by Campaign Brief as a possible contender for a Cannes Lion. Fingers crossed…
The Quantum Code project has won two AIMIA awards - Best Use of Social Media and Best Word of Mouth, Peer to Peer or Viral. It was also a finalist in three other categories, including Best Advertising or Marketing.
Watch a video walkthrough of this campaign, created for Sony Australia.
Last night, the “Real Photographers” campaign for Sony’s Alpha Digital SLR Cameras won the award for Best Brand Launch at the Australian Marketing Institute’s 2007 Awards for Marketing Excellence.
This image is from an online ad that provoked a fiery response from a powerful lobby group - the Australian Piano Accordion Players Association. (At least I think that’s what they’re called.) It’s also one of my favourite pieces of creative work that I’ve done.
I’ve put together a PDF which includes this ad, and some more of my favourite work. You can download it from my Portfolio page.
